Shoyu Chicken (Teriyaki Chicken)

Compliments of my dear friend, Michelle Cryer.

5 lb.chicken (dark meat only)
1 c. soy sauce
1/4. c. water
1 T cornstarch
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. ginger powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 c. ketchup

Place chicken in baking dish and cover with sauce. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or place in a slow cooker for 6 hours. Use hot liquid to serve over rice.
